Last weekend we took a last minute trip.
From "what if..." to packed, saying good-bye to my parents and on the road was less than an hour. What fun to grab and go and hit the open road.
Because it was unplanned we didn't get on the road until late afternoon, but driving through
the Narrows on AZ-117 as the sunset was beautiful!
A day in Santa Fe Plaza area...I was able to visit the gallery of an photographer/artist whose work
I enjoy: Barbara Bowles.
She was there,
and it was inspiring to chat with her about her old pickup truck photographs.
Then we had a late afternoon at the balloon festival in Albuquerque, NM on Sunday.
When we arrived the field was empty,
and I couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about.
Then the balloons began to inflate in preparation for the evening glow.
And I understood...
My favorite time of day in a field full of glowing hot air balloons...
with my best friend...magical!
