English Paper Piecing

For awhile I've been looking for a project that I can take with me on errands, to basketball games and traveling. After following Libby's progress on her ongoing project, I decided to jump on in.

I'm using 1 1/4" hexagons from Paper Pieces that I had stashed away. Leftover 1930s fabric from baby quilts seemed to be a good place to start. Using Libby's pictures I grafted out a pattern using hexagon graph paper from a graft paper site.

After 2 basketball games I've done enough to know that I love working on this!

Today as I caught up on blog reading I came across a number of Grandmother's Flower Garden projects in a variety of layouts and colors. One was done in pink fabrics and is terrific. Pop over and take a peek at the Red Hots.
