New Life for an Old Machine

My ddil really needed to be able to sew at her own home, so it was time for me to get my old Singer machine back into service. It made many quilts through the years before it was set aside for my Bernina. I'm glad that it will be working until she can get her own. It is so fun to be a part of getting a new quilter rolling.

Working with her brought back memories of my Mom helping me get started in quilting many years ago when I was 16 and made my first quilt.

She gave me my first sewing box. I believe that it had been hers, but I don't' know the history of this box. It might be fun to see what my Mom remembers.

I haven't been getting much sewing done the last several days, but I had a great dinner the other night when we went out with some friends.

Quilters must eat too. ((s))

The Prince Edward Island mussels and pasta dish was so unbelievable!

Tonight six of the eight kids (plus two grandbabies) came over for dinner to celebrate dh's birthday.

The birthday chef made a great dinner of speciality pizzas.
