I love the beginning of a new year. 2006 was a good year for me...an enjoyable year. What will 2007 bring? How many quilts will I begin? How many will I complete? ((lol)) What journeys will we take? What books will we read? What will happen in my sons lives? Where will they go? What will they do? What will this year bring for their girls? What will the new grandson be like? My mind runs wild with questions and curiosity...
Already the close of 2006 and the beginning of 2007 is very interesting to me. We have be caught in a snowstorm in Albuquerque, NM. It has been an incredible snowstorm! The beauty of it all has been a delight to observe! Although we are disappointed that we didn't get to my parents or Tim to the Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix, we have been thrilled with God's display of beauty all around us. I've also been so glad that we had a comfortable hotel with a bed, warmth, and even Starbucks coffee! I've seen the news reports of stranded vechiles and people who tried to push through the storm. It has made me very grateful for my wise husband who wasn't willing to risk our safety even for the Fiesta Bowl.
The view of Sandia Mountain from our hotel.
A winter wonderland!
The view from our second hotel after a failed attempt to head home. Doesn't it look like we could be in Russia?
So we ring in the new year with the reality that flexibility brings blessings and beauty and disappointments too.
Happy New Year!
