Twelve Blocks Done

Well, I'm making progress! The twelve blocks are completed and ready for the next two steps. It was fun playing with all the colors. I decided to make all 12 blocks the same. It just seemed easier that way.

The other day at the quilt shop I found a wonderful book, "Creating Your Perfect Quilting Space" by Lois L. Hallock.Creating Your Perfect Quilting Space by Lois L. Hallock

I've learned so much about the ideal height for my cutting table, sewing machine and pressing board. My elbow to the floor measures 44" and the ideal cutting table height is 6" lower than your elbow. Thus my cutting table should be 38" and low and behold my large cutting table is exactly 38"!! No wonder I've loved that table so much. :-) The book has so much information, suggestions, and helpful photos, charts and plans.

I'm slowly working in the barn's office area converting half of it into a quilting studio. Today dh and ds #1 helped me move a number of my former sewing tables...out of storage in the barn and into the office area. I need to take some pics so I can have before and afters. Everything is so dirty, and it has been hard to "see" the plan in my head, but the book has helped so much.
Today for the first time I can now "see" it coming together.
