Blog Reading

This afternoon I spent a fair amount of time responding to comments, reading other blogs and enjoying my downtime with the football games playing in the background and dh napping in his chair.

Because of a comment left by Joyce, I visited her blog. What a treat to read it "cover to cover." From her first post in October 2005 I knew I was in for a treat. Her artistic eye is shown through her creative, colorful quilts. If ever a quilter deserves a longarm machine, she does. I love the quote she has on her profile: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!" Thank you Joyce for such a wonderful, inspiring blog!

I so want to get quilting, but my dear fdil (future daughter-in-law) is on her way here to quilt for awhile before our family dinner tonight. I'm going to try and get the binding on my Road to Oklahoma Christmas quilt (which I finished handquilting the other night) before Faith arrives. I NEED handwork for the evenings...and I WANT this one done for this year's Christmas celebration.
