Up in the Air

We are off on another trip. A short one this time.

I used to view flying as a necessary evil. It was the means to get from one point to another relatively quickly.

Slowly I've been changing my view on flying. Maybe it's because I get window seats now. I love looking out the window. I get lost watching the clouds, the sun, the shadows, the light and all that is below. Maybe it is because I'm not in such a hurry anymore.

The above photo was shot in October about 30-45 minutes after we took off from San Juan. It dazzled me! It was like a river of gold...and those clouds...the curving line...their height and darkness. I've never seen anything like it. I couldn't look away and yet looking hurt my eyes.

I don't know what the view from my window will be like on this trip, but I can't wait to discover it.

St. Augustine said, "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
I like this.
